Ghee is an ancient Indian clarified butter, with a deep, nutty flavour that is perfect for cooking or for adding a richness to dishes. It’s known to aid digestion and has anti-inflammatory properties.
As an ingredient in cooking, as you would use butter, or even as a garnish right at the end of cooking. A dollop of ghee on your daal or rice (or anything really) goes a long way. Indeed “ghee rice” is a wonderful meal in itself. Ghee is also great for frying as it has a high smoke point.
